This award-winning, weekday 90-second radio program on the Texas Outdoors was created by Jenkins in 1996 for Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPW) and received major funding from the Dow Chemical Company and the Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration Program. Hosted by Joel Block and broadcast on 100 radio stations and the Internet, the series features interviews with park managers, fisheries and wildlife biologists, conservationists and outdoor recreation specialists. Jenkins produced approximately 1,500 programs and conducted more than 500 telephone interviews. In Fall 2001, the series' audience was estimated at 500,000 weekly listeners. Today 1,000 programs can be heard via the Internet in the Passport to Texas Listening Library Archives. Jenkins transferred the series to TPW in September 2001 to establish audioeclips.

The "Meet the Birds of Texas" educational radio feature and companion web site were developed in 1999 for the Passport to Texas radio series. The web site features audio programming, bird calls, a Bird of the Month Club, and photographs and descriptions adapted from John L. Tveten's book - "The Birds of Texas."

TEXAS MONTHLY'S AROUND THE STATE

From April 1992 to March 1995, Texas Monthly magazine distributed a weekday, two-minute radio show about Texas art, music, sports and travel. Jenkins wrote and co-produced more than 780 programs for the series, which aired on 55 stations statewide. Hosted by Joel Block and Everette Caldwell.

THE CORPUS CHRISTI CHRONICLES

This award-winning weekday, two-minute radio series was created for the 1992 Quincentenary Celebration. It was broadcast on seven radio stations in the Corpus Christi area from April 1992 to October 1992, and featured 120 programs on local and regional history. Hosted by Wayne Ewen.

THE CAPITAL CITY CHRONICLES

Austin, Texas celebrated its 150th birthday in 1989. For the city's Sesquicentennial, Jenkins wrote and produced 220 two-minute historical narratives for radio highlighting the people, places and events that shaped Austin history. The series aired on both commercial and non-commerical radio. For her efforts she received numerous state and local awards, including the Texas Award for Historic Preservation. Hosted by Wayne Ewen.

THE TEXAS MUSIC CHRONICLES

In 1986 for the Texas Sesquicentennial, Jenkins launched her first radio series - a weekday, two-minute program that focused on Texas music and musicians. Sixty shows were created for the state's 150th birthday celebration and broadcast on 18 stations statewide. Hosted by Wayne Ewen.
